This paper aims to propose a comprehensive framework for clear description of system boundary conditions in life cycle energy assessment (LCEA) analysis order promote the incorporation embodied impacts into building energy-efficiency regulations (BEERs). The proposed was developed based on an extensive review 66 studies representing 243 case over 15 countries. consists six distinctive dimensions, i.e., temporal, physical, methodological, hypothetical, spatial, and functional. These dimensions encapsulate components collectively. possesses two key characteristics; first, its application facilitates defining within transparent context. consequently leads increasing reliability obtained LCEA results decision-making purposes since any particular (e.g., truncation or assumption) considered establishing boundaries under study can be revealed.
